The Port Sheldon Fire Department is a volunteer unit dedicated to promoting and protecting the safety and welfare of our community. Constantly training and preparing for the worst while planning to minimize injury and property damage. We are all very grateful and proud to have them serve the Township.
The volunteer fire department consists of twenty-two volunteers, and 911 dispatching is based from the County Dispatch office in West Olive, MI. The Township also has a mutual aid agreement to provide or receive assistance from surrounding communities when needed.

Burn Permits
Only the following items may be burned: natural materials, including limbs, brush and leaves. You must attend your fire at all times until it is completely extinguished. You are responsible for any damage that results from your fire. If your fire gets out of control, call 911 immediately.
